Working to implement the changes for 2020

Updated: Jul 24, 2020

The Overland Event 2020 is much more than just a funky T-shirt design! We really do want everyone to have fun, but staying safe is the most important thing.

If you've been along in previous years you'll notice that we've had to make a lot of changes for 2020. There's the stuff you're becoming familiar with, like keeping your distance when queuing and finding hand sanitiser outside every building, but we've also decided to open multiple bars to minimise queues and use a token system to reduce the risk of virus transmission.

It will be mandatory to wear face masks or shields indoors, and although we want to maintain the famously relaxed atmosphere, areas like the cafe, where you get free tea and coffee, will be outside seating only.

We're going to repeat more presentations because of the limited numbers Government say can gather indoors but we're also introducing a couple of innovative new ways to experience the talks... It's going to be a great Event. Our community needs to be socially close even if we must remain physically distant. We look forward to seeing you all there.
