Like Maple Syrup, you're unlikely to meet a sweeter couple of crazy motorcycle travellers than Canadians Jeremy Kroeker and Elle West, and we're delighted they're coming over for The Overland Event 2025!

Their last big overland ride in South America went a bit pear-shaped with the pandemic leaving them stranded in Uruguay for 5 months, but they're both full of stories from the road as they've been travelling to foreign lands for over 25 years and never taking anything too seriously...

As well as travelling by bike, Elle’s an advocate for women in motorcycling, sharing her passion with students as a motorcycle instructor with Motology School in Calgary. While passing through Colombia in 2019, she served as a guardian for the Women Rider's World Relay too, and Elle has been a regular guest on Adventure Rider Radio and other motorcycle podcasts.

Jeremy is a musician, award-winning author, wit, ejit, and is currently employed as an ice road trucker in northern Canada, because 'you gotta get your kicks where you can'. After all, while working at a wilderness camp in Alberta he fell in love with ice climbing, an enterprise that has been described as “hours of suffering interspersed with moments of terror”.

He's the author of the award-winning book 'Motorcycle Therapy', the hilarious tale of a knee-jerk response to a failed relationship, when he bought a used KLR650 and rode from the Canadian Rockies to the jungles of Panama, only to discover he hadn’t left himself at home.

He then set off for the Middle East and North Africa, a journey that spawned his second book “Through Dust and Darkness” which really illustrates the power of his descriptive prose.

Riding across Europe and the Middle East he questions much about organised religion and his own spirituality. Don’t let this book scare you - you can’t travel in the Middle East without at least mentioning religion - at heart it is a motorcycle travel book full of the finest prose and picture-painting lyricism.

Jeremy has also edited Motorcycle Messengers and Motorcycle Messengers 2. They are collections of travel stories from some of the leading writers in the genre, plus a few people you've never heard of. Consider it a sample pack of authors. Stuff a copy into your saddlebag, read a story by the fire, and discover your new favourite motorcycle travel writer.

Exactly what either of them will speak about is TBC, but hopefully Jermy will also play us some tunes from his latest EP! Oh yes, he’s multi-talented.

His E.P. of original songs, including the one that got him fired from his last job, is called "The Best Day of My Life," and it's available to stream everywhere. The official music video will make you laugh, and it's on YouTube at Kroeker's second channel: Jeremy Kroeker Music.
