Weise up and make it happen!

The Overland Event is unique in always attracting authors and presenters from overseas. Of course nobody with a travelling mindset, and a lust to explore the new, would come all the way to Oxfordshire for 4 days and then leave again without a bit of a ride around the UK!

Thankfully Weise Clothing have stepped in to assist three of the female riders that are flying in to present at this year’s Event, by providing them with some riding kit.

Linda Bootherstone-Bick and Heather Ellis are flying in from Australia and Elle West is coming over from Canada. All three have ridden thousands of miles across multiple continents but are always keen to see some of this green and pleasant land so will be using Weise ‘Dakota’ jackets and ‘Ridge’ denim jeans.

Bristol-based Weise Clothing have now spent over 30 years combining innovation, design, and safety with their passion for luxury, comfort, and style.

In 1988, the Weise ‘Waterford’ jacket led the way with abrasion-resistant Cordura™, swiftly followed by the Water Release System (WRS), which is now featured as standard in most Weise products. This forward thinking has originated in a company where only riders design products for riders. They say this ‘leaves you free to enjoy the road regardless of the elements you face.’

We’ve ridden many thousands of miles in Weise clothing (you’ll find some reviews on the Overland Magazine website) and their expansion from ‘touring’ into ‘adventure’ kit has been a welcome one, because whether you are a summertime tourer, an all-year commuter or hunger for riding that’s more adventurous, attention to detail resonates through each article of clothing to ensure total assurance and peace of mind.

Weise even holds a licence to use the highly-respected Outlast® fabric in selected products, which is the same body temperature-regulating material initially developed for NASA.

We are very grateful for the support they are showing our Overland community.
